Glue tyres

  • Inflate the tire up to 0,5 to 1 bar and put it on a new rim
without glue. Make sure that you keep 2 fingers on the base tape, one on
every side of the valve and that you press with your thumb on the foot of the
valve on the side of the tread
  • Sand the rim with rough sandpaper.
  • Put a thin layer of glue on the rim.
  • Let this dry for 24 hours.
  • Put a second, thicker, layer of glue on the complete rim.
  • Let this dry again during 24 hours.
  • Check if the radius of the tire is the same as the radius of
the rim (as in the drawings)
  1. Take the tire of the rim and check the pressure (between 0.5 and1 bar).
  2. Put a thin layer of glue on the base tape of the tire.
  3. Put a layer of glue on the rim.
  4. Put the tire on the rim. You need to put the tyre on the rim within 15 minutes after gluing the base tape. Pay attention: the wheel always has to stay upright position with the hole of the valve at the top. Then put the tire on the rim: begin at the top and then push the tire (always with the same force!) to the bottom. Turn the wheel upside down and pull the last part of the tire into the rim.
  5. Inflate the tire up to about 2 bar.
  6. Centre the tire until the tread is in a straight line with the wheel.
  7. Control if the base tape appears at both sides of the rim. If not, push the tire a little in a way that the base tape is equal at both sides of the rim.
  8. Remove the glue that you still see between the tire and the rim with a towel. Please be careful and don't use gasoline or similar products.
  9. Let everything dry for 24 hours.Put another layer of glue and push the small rim tape in the glue. Attention: the tape cannot be too wide (only between 6 and 9mm).
  10. Let everything dry for 24 hours.

  • Put another layer of glue and push the small rim tape in the glue. Attention: the tape cannot be too wide (only between 6 and 9mm).
  • Let everything dry for 24 hours.
  • Put another layer of glue on the tape.
  • Let everything dry for 24 hours

Check again if the radius is the same as the radius of the rim. If yes, continue to the left side of this page. If no:

- Is the space between the rim and the tyre < 0,5mm?

Put 1 layer on the rim and let dry for 24 hours

- Is the space between the rim and the tyre > 0,5mm?

Repeat from the first step
